Slackerface

Updating my blog has not been a priority these days and I am not sure why. I am not going to recap the last three weeks of my life, so you can let out a sigh of relief now. But here are a few highlights:

When Evan wakes up in the morning, he couldn't be happier. He just hangs out in his crib and coos and babbles until someone goes into to 'converse' back with him. If it takes me too long, this usually who I find in his bed with him.

We went up to Bear Lake a couple of weeks ago with the fam and it was fun as usual. Well, in between trying to keep my daughter from beating up on her cousins. I don't know what has gotten into my child, but she is quite the stinker some days. Here she is getting all wet and dirty at the beach - thanks Chelsie for the pictures.

She also had fun covering her face with dirt while we were chillin at the race on Saturday.
John and my Dad did the Bear Lake Brawl again this year - my dad with a little help from Ross on the swim portion. They did great and I enjoyed cheering for them. But I was pretty sad to be standing on the side lines and not participating in the race as per usual. Especially when I checked out this years results page and saw that if I would have raced again this year and had the same time (I know, impossible given the recent birth of my son, but entertain me anyway) I would have taken second place. Boo!

Instead, I ate my weight in baked goods that weekend - banana crumb muffins, lemon cake and peanut butter bars - that I had made to take up to the condo. Yeah, that's how I roll.
This last Friday Chelsie and I drove down to Salt Lake to to meet up with some friends and get some 'to-go' here and then rendezvous at Liberty Park with the children. I didn't even get my camera out so I stole the above picture from Cassi and the picture of Cooper, Addie and Annabelle off Jenny's blog - gracias. It was fun to see everyone again - although we decided we need to have a get together without children so we can actually carry on a conversation for more then 2 minutes between chasing children.

And although Annabelle seems to be demanding more attention these days and is trying new ways to get it, she makes me laugh out loud a lot. For instance, I put Evan on his stomach for tummy time the other day and he was not enjoying it too much. He was fussing a little and Anna asked what was wrong with him. I told her that he doesn't enjoy tummy time very much and that she didn't like it either when she was his age.

She looked at me and said, 'I liked tummy time when I was little.'

'No you didn't, actually' I replied.

'YES! I did' she demanded. Whatever, I thought, I am not arguing about this.

I go downstairs to change the laundry and when I look up she is standing in front of me holding this picture (I didn't even know she knew about) which she had dug out from one of the drawers in her bedroom and says, 'See. I did liked tummy time when I was little'

Touche'.
