We spent the night at my parents house and the next day Anna, Maddie and Cooper decided to see just how much trouble they could get into in one day. Seriously. They got all, yes all, of my parents towels out and put them in the huge bath tub and then proceeded to fill it up with water and play in it...fully clothed. Later Annabelle and Maddie decided to see how many Q-tips they got shove down both the toilet and the shower drain.
To top it off they dragged my mom's huge Tupperware of Beenie Babies out (remember those?) and proceed to find places to hide them. Like, for instance, shoving 20 of them into this vase...
Ross also spent his 'balloon' birthday money and got a new entertainment center. It is beautimous. Yes. That is the Christmas tree still up and Dinosaur Train is on. I am a great mom like that.
And what better way to start off the New Year than by putting a nice dent into your Cafeteria Plan? Monday I picked up a bunch of prescriptions at Target. Tuesday I finally met with an allergist to confirm my suspicion that I have acquired food allergies. Yep. I am mildly allergic to kiwis and avocado (I can eat them in small amounts, thank goodness - I can't live a life without guacamole) but turns out I am severely allergic to shrimp and all shell fish. I don't eat clams and oysters and what not so I thought no big deal, but apparently I am supposed to have an epi pen with me in case there is cross contamination at a restaurant. Yay!
Wednesday was Evan's six month appointment and Anna's 3 year old well check. I was nervous because when we took Anna to the doctor last year she had a complete melt down about everything they wanted to do: weighing her, measuring here, looking at her. So we had been talking about it for a while - what they would do, it wasn't scary, she had to show Evan how to be big and strong, etc. I even had her bring her doctor kit so she could do the same things to me. While we avoided a meltdown and tantrum, she still did not want to cooperate with the nurse and it took much persuasion. Then when the doctor came in and he tried to play with her and her doctor kit, she was not up for that and gave him some attitude. (Proud parent moment). But once he started the examination she warmed up and complied like a champ.
Both kids are doing great. Basically Anna talks and acts like she is in kindergarten and the doctor reassured me it okay that my son still doesn't roll over since he sits up like a pro. I think he is just too lazy to roll over. Or too huge.

Whilst playing peek-a-boo with Evan after finishing a nice meal of green beans I noticed that he liked to hook his big toe on this little part of the high chair. Looks comfy eh? Anyone else think my son's feet look like a latex glove that has been blown up?
