Celebrate, or in my case, completely deny, the fact that your youngest just turned 2. It was Ross' work family party that same day & I figured I would let him believe that I threw this awesome party for him instead.

It involved eating snow cones with your hands,

huge inflatable slides, bounce houses, rock climbing walls,

cotton candy,

train rides and much more. I think he bought it. Phew ;)
Then you attend girls camp. Leaving your aforementioned children behind. They look pretty happy about it though - playing with neighbor friends & going to Grandma's will do that to you. Don't worry though, my smile was just as big.

Until it friggin rained for 24 hours straight & we were sopping wet & covered with mud.

Yep. It even hailed.

Good thing I was coming home that day anyway. Too bad that what I thought were allergies, turned into a nasty cold at girls camp & then bronchitis over the 4th of July weekend. Yep. Because I had already signed up to run a 5k that weekend. Blerg. That will be fun. I have decided the running gods hate me this year.
I was super depressed, but determined to do it anyway. I wheezed, coughed & spit lougies throughout the entire hilly course (I was a delight to those around me, I am sure) & finished 2 min. slower than I had been training for. And came in at 23:53 with a face pink enough to match my shirt. Even though I did not get my time, I still ended up with 2nd in my age division & now I am determined to run another 5k and get the time I want!

Also, 3 cheers to my niece, Bradee Jane, who ran the whole 5k. Woot!
We went to the parade. It was bloody hot. And of course, cooled off right after it ended. My kids were happy...I swear. But would not look at the camera...errr phone..for the life of them. Doing what mom says is lame anyway, right?

Though, more people attend the parade each year = my desire to go is less each year. At least Evan got to chill with his grandma & a popsicle. He lives the life people.

My mom's 4th of July spread - basically diabetes on a table. If Our Best Bites posts it, my mom must to do it too!

My contribution was red, white & blue caramel corn. Of course Jane packaged it much cuter once I delivered the goods.

What would Summer be without a blockbuster? Ross & I saw Transformers... on the mammoth screen...in 3D...let's talk about a ridiculous amount of money to watch Even Steven's run around with a VS model and blow stuff up. Ross wanted to see it because, and I quote, 'I read a review that said it was the Michael Bay of all Michael Bay movies.' That is all you need to get my husband excited I guess. And aren't 3D glasses hot? lol.

I will leave you with Anna, well, just being Anna.

And Evan enjoying his 'scream' from his birthday. My mom made her homemade raspberry frozen yogurt when we celebrated his birthday with my family. He loved it so much she made it again for me to pick up & take to Ross' family when we celebrated it with them. Thanks Janers!

You can see why she she did not say no. This guy was in heaven. He is my son, after all.
