Speaking of Chick Fil A, found out my son digs their lemonade.

He does NOT like it when I take it away.

Evan is mischievous. While I was upstairs getting Anna ready for school, he scaled the pantry to get Daddy's cereal, got a bowl from the counter and helped himself. Maybe instead of mischievous, I should say self-reliant?

Nah. Mischievous. While I was at my parents house last week he was beyond upset that I interrupted his play time, outside, WITH cousins, to take a nap. How dare I? Well he showed me by learning how to climb out of the pack and play and refusing to take a nap.

His new found hiding spot. The thing is, before I took this picture, he crouched his little head down so that you really could not see him.
I wish I were little again and things, like boxes, could make me so happy and entertain me for an hour.

Or making a box car for a drive in for Anna's Primary activity. She was dead set on the colors she wanted for the car, wheels, and the whole lay out. I told her we could buy purple paint, but that is where I draw the line. I was not about to go out and spend money on things to decorate a box. I'm such a nice mom, huh?

Hey, she was still happy with the outcome.

We went to the Book Of Mormon exhibit at the church's museum. Evan had the most fun with the food. Maybe that explains why he is 30lbs. Look at his cheesy smile. It kills me every time.

You know what else kills me? Kids who are unattended at these places. This kid hogged BOTH fishing lines and wouldn't share. Mind you, he is like 10. After about 10 minutes of Anna waiting patiently (well, as patiently as a 4 year old waits) I was like, 'Hey kid, I think your turn is up. Other kids (besides just Anna) want a turn too'. He was willing to give up a little space and 1 of the poles. His mom finally comes by, says 'How ya doin?' He says' Good' and she walks away. Lame sauce.

But I do recommend the exhibit. The kids had a blast.
Oh and remember that time when I was waiting in line at the pharmacy and I gave my kid a sour war head and took pictures of his reaction? I do. It was great. Too bad the pharmacist thought I was crazy. Here's your meds lady. TAKE THEM. And get out of here.

My kids also kept the employees at my physical therapists entertained with the pictures they would draw for them and the things they would say. This is the view I get to look at all too often.

This is my bruised IT band. Could I be any more tan?!

I kept working through it. I was allowed 4 miles. I ran with discomfort, but no pain. Yay! So they said I could 8 miles on Saturday (this was several Saturdays ago). I did. And then couldn't walk. At all. For a day. Since then I can't run a half a mile without extreme pain. So the marathon is no more. Don't worry, I just drowned my sorrows with the yummiest homemade banana cream pie.

Today I didn't go to the gym in the morning before the kids got up, like I usually do, so I told Anna she could watch Cyberchase while I did a video and Evan napped. Anna kept asking when I was going to exercise and I told her I didn't know. That I needed some motivation. To which we have the following conversation:
Anna: 'Huh? What's motivation?'
Me: 'Sometimes I just don't have the energy to make myself exercise'
Anna: 'Well then, maybe you should hold your breath and puff out your cheeks. Like this'
Anna: 'So you don't let your air out'
Me: 'Okay. Why don't I want to let my air out?'
Anna: 'Cause if you don't let your air out, then you you won't be using any energy'
Me: 'Seriously?!' I am laughing now.
Anna: 'Just go run on the treadmill mom!'
Me: 'Anna, I haven't ran in days and days cause my knee hurts when I run. Remember?'
Anna: In a very obvious/duh voice, 'Then just walk'

Oh man! Anna is such a character! She is too smart! Nice bruise too, eh?
Your kids crack me up!! Anna's conversation is so funny, and Evan is just so stinking cute! I love the car you made, way to be creative!!
your kids are serious firecrackers. LOL! Tanner and I have similar conversations about exercise, but they include things like "turning into a biggest loser" and "mom, is there fat in these cookies? or carrots? or bread?" YES! I LOVE butter, okay son?!?!! the boy is 5 and I'm really nervous for him to start eating school lunches when he goes to 1st grade.
LOL!
They make me laugh! Sorry about the marathon. You do have a nice bruise though.
Your kiddos crack me up too! I can't believe how big they are getting. It has been to long since we have seen you guys. Sorry about your knee. That really sucks. Loved the car you made. Bostyn thought is was awesome!
Ok that cheesy picture of Evan I seriously thought to myself, 'why does Megan have a picture of Brennen on her blog?' Love the conversations we have with the chicklets! My latest with Ever is that she marries boys not her girlfriends!!
THere was a lot to that post, for one I can't believe he's 30 lbs. Reese is 30 lbs. (but I know she's on the skinny side. Also that sucks about the marathons, I wish I could take your place, if it was the half I would. What in the heck was that chick fill A thing? I've never heard of that, Chick fill A is such a mad house.
I'm glad you had that pie to help drown your marathon sorrows...so sorry. Kids are the best entertainment I swear. The stuff they come up with is priceless. Love Anna's convo with you lol. I can't believe how big Evan is...though it seems my kid will follow suit ;)
I love that last conversation, that is stinkin hillarious!! Duh, why don't you just walk! So did they say what is for sure wrong with your knee, maybe you can have surgery with me in June! LAME... I'm so sorry about the marathon, I know how excited you were, I hope it can still work out for you in the future though!
I'm sooo sorry about the marathon! It really stinks when you have all these hopes for a race and they don't work out. Maybe sometime down the road...after you heal from that nasty bruise! You're so athletic, I hope you can run one soon.
Your kids are so cute, by the way. That Anna is too smart.
Evan is just a doll! I can't believe he weighs as much as Wesley!! And can I just say I couldn't agree more on the whole 'lame parents who don't watch their horrible children' thing. Worst. Pet. Peeve. Ever. Especially at play places like McDonalds. Some kid was literally hitting Wes and I had to go up to him and be like, HEY! Get off of him! No idea where his wonderful mother was. Ugh.
Sorry about your leg - I hope you heal up soon. =)
I love this post. So funny I'm still laughing. Your kids are so dang cute and I love all the stories. Fun fun fun
Bummer about your leg...so sorry!
Your kids are as cute (and funny) as ever...when did Evan start looking so much like a big boy? Crazy how that happened.
My kids have been playing with 2 boxes for the last month...I don't like them but can't bring myself to throw them away because they provide so many hours of entertainment!
Evan is so big! I can't believe it! And could Anna look any more like Jane in that last picture??? Holy cow. Your kids are darling! Sorry about your running predicament and bum leg.
And I'm worried about how I'm going to handle hogger kids like that boy at the museum....
why is no one commenting on Ross's cereal?? is that cookie crisp??? i love it. your kids crack me up. and evan being 30 lbs...that is awesome!
Always love the updates. Still laughing at the sour face entertainment.
Your kids definitely have personality! I love the kids things come up with. The picture of the pie seriously made my mouth water, recipe please!
Your kids crack me up too. They are so darn cute and funny. Sorry about your knee. Is there anything that can be done to fix it?
Looks like fun! We miss you! We need to get together!
That TOTALLY sucks about your knee!!!!! I have had issues with my IT band, but so far it has been pretty manageable. I am so scared of something happening like that. Is it any better now? Our bootcamp (at the athletic club) teacher showed me some weights to lift that make a HUGE difference, because they strengthen the muscles in the rest of your leg and keep your IT band from screwing up your knee cap. If you want to call me I can tell you what I know.
i love to read your blog... im just follow u... follow me back..thak you...:)
You should checkout crossfit endurance if you haven't already. They just did a certification at the crossfit gym I attend in portland and it'll change everything about your running and help with why your getting hurt. I can't remember where you live, but if it's still in the Ogden area ... I can get you hooked up with my dads crossfit coach in south ogden. He paces the century runners. He's AWESOME. Even if you can just meet up with him while visiting your parents...he can help so much with your form. I hate running...hate it hate it hate it. BUT since I have started changing my form it has helped me so much. FB me if you have any ?'s or call me. 5033271014. It would suck not to be able to do something that you love so much!!! ~Deneal
