Yeah this was the line on one side of the building and there was another line on the other side. I waited for a half hour and got to listen to all the high school students talk about how Weber just got their butt kicked at their homecoming game. Poor Weber just hasn't been the same since they moved up to 5A. These pictures aren't great as they were taken with my cell phone and I tried to take them discreetly so that no one would be weirded out - I don't know if that worked though.
Even though I had to wait - it was worth it. Poor Annabelle stayed up pretty late that night as a result though. Thanks again to the Dinsdales for watching her.
Saturday Ross and I went to the BYU game and even though the game wasn't exactly intense we still had fun. (BYU won 44 to nothing) My uncle has season tickets with some pretty sweet seats. He was gone to Lake Powell so it was me, Ross, my dad, my uncle Scott and my cousin Alyse.
It was supposed to rain and be cloudy so I dressed accordingly only to have it super sunny and hot. I am now tan on my right arm and no where else. Ross is so candid. On the way back we passed this boat that had 'Poverty Sucks' written on the back and the side. I thought it was kind of funny at first, but then it kind of annoyed me. Poverty DOES suck and he could probably help a few impoverished families with the money he spent on that boat. But I guess I don't know that he hasn't done that already so I should just keep my mouth shut.
Thanks to my cousin Pam and her family for watching Anna while we went to the game. She has so much fun when we leave her places - it makes me worried that she really has no fun with just her mom and dad. On the way home from their house she said 'Fun day! Pam!'
In other Annabelle news on Wednesday night we decided it was time to say goodbye to the binky. She had only been using it during her nap and at bedtime, but still it wasn't going to get any easier to take it away so why put it off? I cut it, showed it to her and she started to cry 'Binky broke!' She cried for about a half an hour before she fell asleep and woke up 3 times during the night. Her nap the next day took her about a half an hour to fall asleep, but that night was better and it only took her 10 minutes to fall asleep. She woke up a few times that night, but less than the night before. I am happy to report that she slept through the night last night! Wahoo! She still wakes up every morning and after every nap and says 'Binky still broke huh?' in a super sad voice...but I can deal with that. The hard part is she talks a lot now before she falls asleep - before I guess she must have just laid there but the binky kept her quiet. She will just lay there and talk for an hour straight about the most random things before she falls asleep.
Also, she did awesome the first 2 weeks of nursery and then it went downhill. She wouldn't let me out of her sight or even leave my lap sometimes. We made progress a few weeks ago and she would be fine if I left half way through class (when they put the toys away and started the lesson...and snack time). So last week we had a little play date with a boy who is in nursery with her names Daniel in hopes that she would then like nursery a little more. It totally worked. Today after Sacrament she said 'Daniel? Anna's class?' and as soon as I took her to the class she practically jumped out of my arms to play with the kids. It was the first time Ross and I had been able to both go to class together and actually listen. Who knew you could learn so much in church?

I've been thinking more and more about the getting rid of the binkie thing...and the selfish parent i am wants to put it off...when really i guess i should just do it huh...hmmm. i can just hear her saying binky still broke...she makes me laugh. ah zeppes, i'm glad you got to go before they close, now everytime i drive by it...it taunts me, saying haha, have a good winter sucka! weber did get their butts kicked, we went to the game..but i did get a free shirt out of it...hey about sytycd...what if we just go early and be all geeky and buy some merchandise to wear?! haha i'm so excited...i'm glad you guys had fun at the game...ross looks thrilled...i have so much more to say...but this is already long...love ya
Meg, you and your husband are such a cute couple. I don't know if I have seen a picture of just the two of you besides your wedding one. Really you guys are so cute! Anyways I am totally routing for BYU this year. It makes me so proud to be from utah! Anyways it seems like your family is always having so much fun.
YAY for the end of the binkie! It's a big huge deal. It took us forever with JJ girl...so way to be!!!
I seriously wondered if your entire family would be at Zeppes. I am glad you got your treat, it is bad when everyone wants something different & it is a must have for you. Ode to the binki thing. It is really too bad that we all have to go through that, the faster the better...ask me about that...Gretchen is 3 and still talking about wanting a binki. Poor girl, wish I would have had one last night.
we were at the game too! Too bad I did't see ya, probably because you had way better seats than us. I was the same as you with the whole I thought it was gonna be cold thing, and then I was sooo hot the whole game! Stupid weather channel!
Oh I'm so jealous you got rid of the binky. We need to start but I'm a little worried since Molly usually has 5 in her crib when she goes to sleep. Yes, I said 5-she's extremely attached!!!
Good for Anna to go to nursery! We're still working on that too...
sweet. i'm so glad the binky thing was so easy, compared to cambree. i had to lay with cambree every night for about 2 months until she fell asleep, then she got a prelit chritmas tree from ryan's mom so i told her she could have it in her room but i wasn't going to lay with her anymore, now she's fine with a night light. Cambree clings to everything though.
That's awesome the nursery is getting better for anna. Hailey goes in 2 months-can't wait
That binkie story is so sad! My kids would never take binkies which was sometimes hard because they had a harder time falling asleep, but at least I didn't have to wean them.
I could not wait for Amelia to turn 18 months so I could finally listen in Relief Society, but about a month before Amelia was old enough to go into nursery, I got called as Nursery Leader! Great timing! :P (sarcastic)
p.s. Don't forget to serve others today ;)
I love that you cut the binkie and showed it to her! I never in a million years would have thought of that. You are such a good mom. Well, with winter coming it makes me sad. These are the days when St. George isn't too far from my mind. We should plan a trip to escape our winter woes
Maddux sucks his thumb (only a little) so I am dreading getting rid of that habit..ya know cuz you can't just chop off an appendage. I haven't been to Zeppes and I don't know where it is...I'll have to research it for next year--I'll definitely be going though.
Yeah for no crying in nursery, this week was Lizzie's first week that she didn't come back to us with red eyes. I don't think she cried once, we have the most amazing nursery leaders that work so hard. I am actually liking church again.
We actually drove by Zeppe's on Friday night and saw the huge line. We had just been at the WHS game watching Hill dance at half-time. We actually ran in to Chelsie and her cute little family. That's great about Anna and nursery. I used to feel so bad when one of the kids was absolutely petrified to stay. I felt like a bad teacher or something. I'm glad she has a buddy and likes it now!
Congrats with the binkie and nursery! Its funny how much you appreciate sunday school lessons etc. AFTER you have kids. John went to that BYU game too. We have season tickets, but they are in the nosebleed seats so we usually come home with our feet tired from standing, and our faces bright red from being stuck in the sun. Playdates are great! Austin just started a playgroup with 4 other nursery kids last week. Its been good for him to make friends in the ward. We do it every weds for two hours and each mom trades off who does it at who's house every week. Its great for Austin who needs the social interaction, and so helpful to me cause its when I do my shopping so I dont have to take both kids(:
Dang. Now I'm mad. I totally forgot that Zeppe's closed on Saturday so I didn't go. I still am like the only person alive who hasn't tried the stuff. Oh well. Maybe next year. Glad you got your peach gelata shake and aren't you glad we're not in high school anymore? I get embarrassed thinking I was once giddy yippy like the high schoolers I see today!
Zeppe's is so worth a wait isn't it? Mmmm, I was sad because I wanted one more, but we were sick Saturday and just couldn't get down there....which apparently wouldn't have been a quick trip either.
Yay for no more binki- I don't know HOW I'll get Addie to stop taking hers eventually. She loves that thing. Looks like a fun weekend :)
That is a crazy line you stood in. I'm glad it was worth it though. Looks like you had great fun at the BYU game, and glad they won. So glad that Anna has fun at Pam's house, she is a great sitter. Hey for no more binky, sounds like she is getting use to not having it. So glad that nursery is going good. It took my kids forever before I could leave them in there. That boat amazed me, strange people. Love Anna's hair.
She talks for that long before she goes to sleep huh?? Sounds like YOUR DAUGHTER!!! :P
You guys MUST be related! ;)
Love the pics!!
It sounds like little Anna is growing up. The nursery days are beautiful days. Wait until as soon as Anna finds out it's church day she will be bouncing off the walls until she finally gets to go to nursery. What is Zeppas? I must have missed out on something good while living in Ogden.
Oh Zeppes! Love it!!! I went 3 times last week, my goal was everyday, now I am SAD!!! Pretty pathetic, I know!, I am jealous of the Binky, I have a great deal for you, how about I will watch Anna for a week and you can watch Maddie for a week, and get rid of her Binky also!! Sounds like a plan let me know when works best for you!
So I had to do the exact same thing. I cut Baylee's and gave it to her. That night she went to sleep with it she was a little confused but went along with it. But the next morning she said"my binky is broken, Mommy you fixed it so I have to throw it away." She did and was so proud of herself she didn't need it after that. Whew!!!
