People Magazine

I feel like Facebook and Blogging has made 'stars' out of everyone. Not necessarily made people famous, but lets people you know (and sometimes people you don't know) what is going on in your life. When I run into people I haven't seen in a long time, instead of being super excited, hugging and asking 'what have you been up to?' It's more of a casual 'Hey! What's going on? How did that doctor appointment go last week?' Does anyone else think this is weird. It's like everyone has their own spread of 'Stars: They're Just Like Us!' in an issue of People magazine and I read it to know what has been going on in their lives.

Sometimes I wish that there really was some paparazzi following me and taking pictures of the mundane things I do every day, because lately, I surely have not. But then I realize my terrible habit is going to make me sad one day when I look back and I can't remember all the little things we did that were fun, the places we went and the funny things my kids did or said. Can you hire photographers to follow you around? Maybe if I did my own spread in
People would go something like this....

Evan finally cut his bottom two teeth and now demands that whenever his mother (Megan) eats an apple, she share.

Please note most pictures were taken with an ancient cell phone camera.

Annabelle wants to dress up her little brother, but her parents won't let her. She improvises by using blankets to drape around Evan as dresses. She is having a grand time, her brother, not so much :)

Instead, Evan would much rather spend hours (seriously) ripping pages out of a magazine, after all, it does make a pretty cool sound. Notice the magazine is People. Haha.

Megan heads to an outing at Kirt's drive in (that's right) with friends from the ward she grew up in. At dinner Leah and Ashley order both a raspberry slush and a raspberry glacier. Oddly enough they both came out purple and tasted very similar to to grape. Upon bringing this oddity up to the waitress she told us they had a 'new' raspberry flavor that was purple. Rrrright. Who makes a purple raspberry? Heidi and Chelsie looked on laughing.

This last weekend Megan steps out again with some other friends for GNO. Too much food was consumed, and the noise level reached from talking alone would rival the Energy Solutions Arena. She stayed out until midnight and is still experiencing a talking and binge eating hang over.

Annabelle visits the dentist and behaves much better this time. Megan is shocked that they are actually able to take x-rays and clean her teeth. It helps that this place was completely kid-centric with a fish tank with Dorie and Nemo fishes, every kind of princess tooth brush, tvs in the ceiling, Dr. Seuss bibs, and treasure chests full of prizes. And no cavities for Annabelle. Wahoo!

Evan has found a new friend he could stare at for hours. Can you blame him?

Annabelle no longer takes an afternoon nap. Such a sad day. Megan says she can still put her down for one but then she stays up until midnight as a result and it is just not 'worth it'. We noticed that if she is in the car for more than 10 minutes after 4 PM, this is the result.
Yes, I do have a husband, but as you can see we have no pictures of either one of us. Hmmm. Maybe if I were in a magazine there would be reports of us splitting. lol. That is not the case, but it does make me realize that if I want pictures of me and my friends, me with my husband or with all of our family together, those pictures are never going to be taken by me. Maybe I really do need to hire someone. Do you think there is a spot for a personal photographer on KSL?

You crack me up, you are so clever! And I hate when my 3 year old falls asleep in the car. We were having the midnight bedtimes too so we cut his nap out a couple months ago. Makes a huge difference at bedtime but I too cried the day I no longer had an hour and half all to myself!

Josh loves to tear up magazines also.
It is so nice when their teeth finally come in and you don't have to deal with the teething woes. Josh got 4 teeth in 1.5 weeks.

When you find someone that will follow you around and take your picture for you (oh, and pay you for letting them do it) let me know!!

LOL, nice I like it. Evan is so cute and getting so big! Yay for Anna doing well at the dentist, oh I dread that with Addie, eek.

Good to SEE you the other day in real life and everything :)

That's the best issue of PEOPLE I have ever read. That Dinsdale family is so hip. I agree that it would be kind of nice to have a photographer follow you around and take family pics. Your life would be documented without having to do any work. Those celebes have got it so good.

That is so funny about knowing every detail about others lives! It's so true though.
Yes, the other night was so fun, but unfortunatley, my husband and kids are deaf now. Oh well.

haha, oh you make me chuckle. I'll come document your lifes, if you will contribute to my Vita-Mix fund...what? 400 dollars sounds to steep? details. I didn't know about evans two teeth. Atta boy! I'm kicking myself that we didn't get a pic of him, sophie, and camden yesterday, to document their differences in size. I'm quite impressed with Anna at the dentist! I haven't taken Coop back since this summer...maybe if I found a place with tv's in the ceiling that would help...maybe

Love the new post! Your kids are so darling. I agree with how weird it is (but cool) knowing so much about people you'd probably never keep in contact with otherwise. My favorite is when I have to stop myself from blurting some tidbit out about someone I just totally blog-stalk if I happen to run into them. Ha ha! I'm sure glad I get to keep tabs on my Overman girls though. By the way, now I'm dying for a trip to Kirt's....yum.....

you are such a clever little blogger! i love it! Love all the cute pictures, and you forgot to mention that I actually tasted the "raspberry slush" and it still tasted like grape, funny. I love that that is the only picture we got of our little outing, guess you aren't the only one who is bad at taking pictures, i didn't even get one!

So funny! I love that Annabelle is so good at the dentist...am I a bad mom that I still haven't taken Dani--I just know she is going to freak out when she sees someone with a mask hovering over her.
I love that Anna is dressing up her little brother like a doll...have the tea parties begun yet?

Oh Megan you make me laugh! If I lived close to you I would love to follow you around and take your picture. You better move on back to O town! I was sad to not be there this weekend! I was to chicken to call a babysitter. I have yet to have a babysitter other than family (and Tiff). Maybe I should branch out. Probably better that I wasn't able to come, there is no way I would have had enough self control. I would have eaten myself to death! We need to figure out a new way to motivate ourselves to eat healthy, I'm not liking my eating habits as of late.

Man I think I wrote a novel, I will stop now, call me sometime and we can discuss how to eat better!

I love this post. So clever. You need to update the day to day of you and your fam more often. I loved to read this. I can't believe how grown up Evan is. They are both adorable.

I would lie about the grape/raspberry glacier too.LOL! I love Mr. Kirt man (I forgot his real name) but he really gets after those employees.

Haha, so funny! Love all the pictures...and I think you should start letting Anna pick out Evans clothes. She seems to be pretty good at matching outfits!

it's probably best a photographer doesn't follow me around....DFCS would probably be a knockin'. just kidding. i seriously had the worst sore throat on sunday from talking so much. too funny. and your kids are so cute that you are now obligated to have a whole army....good luck with that.

I feel ya! I sometimes miss that WOW GREAT TO SEE YOU HOW HAVE YOU BEEN! It's a rare occasion! I realized yesterday that I haven't pulled out my camera in a few weeks, which is really sad because I LOVE photography, I just don't have the energy to take the pictures right now!

I read this forever ago and forgot to comment! I loved this post. Especially the whole 'Stars' and 'Peoples' magazine bit. I go in spurts with blogging, i have a love/hate relationship with it. Im not going to lie, I sure love peeking in on other people's blogs though. Sorry about the no nap thing, Austin sure struggles with that too, we feel your pain.

Your posts always make me laugh, but for the record, Stars, They're just like us, is an Us Weekly feature, not People. :) Last week I was completely mocked for saying «PEOPLE is legit!» Im glad someone else shares my obsession!
Oh and I felt the same way-what would make someone want to run a full marathon?!
