My Life and Home in Pictures

I was recently tagged by Lori to do an interesting tag...You are supposed to take pictures of “real life”…..without cleaning, without touching up. For the first time I was actually happy that I only get to blog when Anna is sleeping, or when Ross is watching her... soooo only when Anna is sleeping ;) My house only stays clean when she is immobilized. It was still hard to not want to move piles out of the picture, but I resisted. I took the pictures after I read her blog and am just now posting them....

1. the laundry room

pile #1 the afghan that saved us during the trip to the Hogle Zoo incident, washed, clean, but hasn't made it back out to the car...along with many of Ross's tools.

2. favorite room

Our bedroom. Because it means I am either reading my scriptures, talking with Ross before we go to bed or sleeping! Plus, I love having a king size bed. I know this is going to sound horrible, but sleeping time is my time and I love having enough room that I don't have to touch my husband when we are sleeping.

3. what the kids are doing

like I said...taking a nap. Awe! Doesn't she look so peaceful?!

4. favorite shoes

I know what everyone is thinking - Megan in heels? Well, I have a new fetish for them and these are one of my faves. Too bad I sported these the day after the Ogden Marathon and it made my plantar fasciitis flare up. LAME!

Oh yes. These are another of my faves..my current running shoes.

5. the toilet

6. Kitchen sink - it needs to be scrubbed. And as previously mentioned, I can't leave dishes in the sink.

7. the refrigerator. Random fridge magnets, a picture my niece Bradee drew, my niece Danika's birth announcement, the alphabet - which Anna prefers to shove into her mouth, and an 'I heart Jim' fridge magnet - from The Office (to write my grocery and to-do list....naturally)

Yes. We really do always have 4 gallons of milk in our fridge at a time. We drink the stuff..a lot. It's nice though, we can each get the kind we want. I get skim, Ross gets 1% and Anna gets Whole Milk.

8. self portrait - I feared this more than taking pictures of my house. Post shower...pre-make up. Plus there is no one to jump in the picture with me to shift the focus...I do not like self-portraits. This was the most difficult to not want to 'clean up.' Ugh.

9. the closet. Our first place with a walk -in and thus my first time being able to fit all my clothes in one closet since I moved out of my parents house 7 years ago. I will never be able to go back.

Ross's half.
My half. Pile #2 - I also have a new purse/diaper bag problem - which is shown toppling over on the shelf in the above picture and pretty much all my jeans and sweaters are in disarray on the shelf as well.

10. dirtiest room

Pile #3...Maybe not dirty but notice the desk - it is always cluttered! And a room with a computer, guitars, treadmill, road bikes and the like...it is a room where we store things that don't have an official place...sigh....one day.

11. dream vacation

Ross wants to go back to Mexico City...understandable.

But I want to go to Europe...anywhere in Europe really. I would love to put all the knowledge Ms. Keim pounded into my head in AP Art History to some good use ;)

If I would have read the tag around 5PM...the pictures would have told a different story. I usually let Anna run a muck while I am fixing dinner and waiting for Ross to get home.

I tag Carlee, Heidi, Sarah C., Stacia and Julienne

Your house is always clean! Props! It still takes me back when I see you in those heels! Don't get me wrong I love them....I am just still getting used to it! Ah the diaper bag/purse fetish...sadly that is what takes up about half of my coat closet....

That was a fun tag! Much more interesting than the last one I did, especially cause of all the pictures. Where are you living now? I forgot. Your house looks very cozy. Jer and I bought a place here in Logan about a year and a half ago. It's so nice to have your own space.

I love your shoes! The yellow plaid is adorable. Where did you get them?

Crap, I knew a tag would be coming soon, since I just started:) But about your whole bed thing, I'm glad someone finally agrees with me! I hate touching in my sleep and I would rather have the whole bed to myself, I love Geoff and all but I keep telling him we need to buy another bed for him so I can have my own. Right now he isn' bying that....Dang:)

Holy cow you have blogged a ton since I last checked. Our internet has been out of commission for awhile.

Totally have to agree with the king size bed..only from the perspective of WANTING one..I like to sleep with no one touching me. My poor hubby.
By the way you continue to inspire me! Wow, a tri, marathons what next? Swim the San Fransisco Bay?

The King is the only way to go!! I love this post. It is fun to get an idea of what your setup is. I only wish for a picture with the outfit you sport those heel in...Super cute.

Man I ruined it I totally don't have time to do this right now. Oh darn! it's bed time and Jane is rubbing her eyes. That is a pretty good one though.

I always tell Justin that I wish he could see the house in the middle of the day! It is spotless when Molly's napping because that's when I clean! But, of course, by the time he gets home, it's got toys all over, the kitchen in messy because I'm cooking dinner, etc etc...Oh well. And yes, Molly was saying "Bye Anna" all the way home!

I cannot believe how clean your house is! Oh my gosh! There is always at least one dish in the sink. I couldn't tell if your clothes were separated by color or not...I remember they used to be :)

Diana - I got my shoes at The Buckle about 2 months ago and suprisingly they were cheaper than you would think, considering prices at The Buckle.

Angela - I sport those shoes with a Navy Blue skirt with huge white and yellow polka dots from DownEast....also purchased 2 months ago (lets just say I went shopping crazy for my bday) I tried to get a link from their website, but they don't have anymore...because it was so 80's hott and I LOVED it! I will have to take a pic of it...it really is cuter than it sounds. Vouch for me Overman.

Kelley - My clothes are now organized according to length, not color. Tank tops, short sleeved, 3/4 sleeved, long, t-shirts that I exercise in or wear to bed, skirts then dresses :)

Megsta, I love that your closet is organized in such a meticulous fashion because so is mine. Same way as yours but also by color. It really helps me though! So I noticed your picture of all of us and WADE. Oh how I loved him that day. I feel famous that we a picture of us with him! Do you remember that guy dancer that I met there that always wore those really tight blue spandex? He was funny! he wrote me letters for about a year! Good Times

it just came to me... I think his name was Julian

Megan,
I think I probably should have worded it differently. I wasn't mad at all for being tagged, and it was fun to do. I just saw all the pictures I had to take of my house and MYSELF and got a little freaked out. Yikes!

And the 3 dozen eggs? They were on sale. When I see a good deal on things, I can't pass it up...and I plan to make a lot of cupcakes soon. :)

(I copied that from my blog)

Anyway, what's up with SYTYCD? I'm not in love with the top 20 this year. I like Twitchington and Chelsea H. and Will, but that's about it. :( How do you feel?

heather bing said...

I don't think I've ever seen you in heels! You're house is so clean! Good job.

Carlee Hoopes said...

Heck yeah I'm still on for the SYTYCD finale party! We could do it at my house, but if that's too far for you, we can do it somewhere else too! Where does Chelsie live?
