It started Wednesday evening when our ward had a trunk or treat, chili cook off and a party. It turned out awesome. Even though I am saddened that more kids go trunk or treating than door to door, it's quite the way to make a killing on the candy very quickly! Anna was more interested running up and down the hill than collecting candy and her new favorite thing to do is to dump....anything - it gets really fun. Here she is dumping out her candy as I try and stop her.
Friday night Anna went trick or treating with her cousins Bradee and Maddison and afterwords we headed to the 2nd annual 'Hutchison Halloween Hoopela'. Seeing as how I am an honorary member of their family, my family too was invited. We had all sorts of yummy and festive food - I only got a picture of a few things because I was soon distracted and just began eating it all.

The main event was the Halloween Olympics. I borrowed these pictures from Marie's blog because I was not able to take pictures of the events seeing as how I was in them. We had Donut Eating Contest (winner-tie between Natalie and Ross), the Broomstick Pull (I dominated at this game, thank you very much), Candle Blowing Contest, Jello Hunt, a Howling contest, and a game where we spelled a Halloween word with our bodies. I am very proud to say that team 'Peanut M&M's a.k.a. Marcia and I (our motto was 'we are nuts') came out victorious. For a full recap please see here.
Saturday night we went to a Halloween party with some of Ross' friends (who just so happened to have married some of my friends too - great how that worked out). The little kids had fun playing with each other while we ate yummy soup, went on a scavenger hunt, had a donut eating contest and filmed the most random short story/movie I have ever seen. The donut eating contest was hilarious. Everyone but Faith and I participated, as there needed to be judges and I eat slow so there is no way I would win. It was so funny to watch everyone try and eat these donuts. One even fell to the garage floor and it still got eaten. The winner was Chapman because he chose the wimpiest donut I ever did see (see picture below).

I'm surprised Annabelle's cookie even had candy on the top, even if it was for a short time. Molly's went straight to her mouth!
Lots of parties, looks like fun!
Okay,so I am pretty sure you must live right by my brother. The first picture, when you are outside the church...well, the house in the background looks like their neighbor Andy and Jen and then my bro lives across the street from them and across the street from the elementary school....Brent and Brittney and Oaklee? is any of this sounding familiar?
I am shocked that the "Candy Man" won. Who would have thought that could happen. Very fun! And may I say that your Anna is so adorable!
I love that picture of her victorious with her candy! So great. I love all your Halloween food. I will have to borrow some of those ideas. What cheese did you use on your mummy pizza's? I am going to have to read all about the games too. We seem to end up playing the same ones year after year at our Ellis Family Halloween Party.
Looks like you guys had fun...I love Anna's costume, the tights are so cute! Glad that the roswell costume was able to make a reappearance too... I haven't a clue where mine haha..no surprise that you still have yours ;)
Sucks about the flood. I think it is safe to say that you had way too much fun celebrating Halloween. You look hot in your waitress costume.
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Like you guys we are lame and didn't dress up either. I love how you found your Roswell costume I so remember those. Fun times!
ERIN- That sounds right, but they would be in a different ward than us, which is probably why I haven't seen them.
MELISSA- I used string cheese so that it would be a little thicker than shredded cheese so it would stay bigger and not melt together so that it looked like gauze.
So fun! Little kids made Halloween such a fun holiday. Looks like you guys enjoyed yourself. A bit off the subject...I know how you appreciate food. If you're ever in New York, you'll have to go to Max Brenner's Chocolate Restaurant. I think you'd appreciate it.
you always end up with the cutest pictures! not fair. you guys had a way more adventureous Halloween then we did, we had not one trick or treater and we have no kids to take with us so therefore boring we are.
That looks like a ton of fun! We never dress up either, so don't feel too bad. And, I love the apples with gooey maggots in them (atleast thats what they look like), maybe we will just come to your house next halloween and none of us can dress up and we will just eat all the snacks that YOU make!
i'm sad that by the time we got to moms you guys were leaving...i feel like i haven't seen anna for a while now. i'm still talking brandon into a trip down there...as of yesterday...he didn't want to...but even if, i'll just come down, or we could meet in salt lake or something to see it. thoughts?
I am lame and never sport a costume, while my husband always does! I hope Anna's dumping phase passes quickly- it leads to huge messes! I love the cookie decorating though!
Sounds like so much fun!!! What a fun Halloween. I know this stuff is for kids, but it can be really fun to be a part of. I love your mummy pizza's!
Looks like you guys have been having tonz of fun. We were sad we missed the last party you talked about. It sounds like it was way fun.
What a fun Halloween party you had! I love the food it looks fun and spooky. Love the photos of Anna to cute. Sorry to hear about the flood hopefully nothing was damaged.
