Viva Las Vegas

Last weekend I headed down to Vegas with my friends from Utah State. My friend Sara, who lives in Arizona now, planned the trip since Vegas is about half way and we never get to hang out with her. It was an entire weekend of warm weather and no kids...which is about the best thing I can think of. And it did not disappoint. First we headed here:

Wouldn't that be hilarious...and extremely awkward? We did not go there, but instead went shopping, ate yummy food, basked in the warmth, and chatted the days away. We stopped by Yogurtland twice in our 2 days there.

Yep. I think my heaven might resemble that place. Yum. That is Sara in the background - she did not partake - apparently she does not like the stuff. Blasphemy!

Another yummy destination was Grimaldi's Pizza. I have now realized that almost all of the pictures from this trip are of the food. Though that should not surprise most.

I ran 10 miles around Vegas on Saturday morning so I justified a lot of my terrible eating - not good.

But so good :)

This is the only picture I have of the pool at the condo where we stayed. They had several pools, hot tubs, and even a lazy river. It was a nice way too cool off since it was 80 degrees. **sigh** Tara was the only one to bring her child, Davis, with us and he was amazing. Seriously. He is such a good baby. We all got our 'baby fix' while he was there and so did the citizens of Las Vegas. People stopped to comment how cute he was and what not - such a thing does not happen often in Utah (the baby making capital of the world).

This was also the moment that Tara's camera was stolen, which is why we don't have any of the other pictures that were taken on the trip. Super lame. Also super lame? We made a pit stop at Bear Paw on the way home so I could get the best muffin ever and they were all out. Such a sad way to end the trip.

This was the first time I had left my kiddos and Ross to go somewhere by myself overnight. And it was also the very first time I have left Evan overnight ever. I feel guilty that I didn't feel guilty...is that possible? All I know is, I hope it is not another 5 and 1/2 years before it happens again. Thank you Ross and mom for watching my kiddos. And thanks girls for making my cheeks sore from laughing so much. Ah yes. Good times were had by all.

Good for you! It is good to leave the kiddos and have some girl time! Vegas is such a funny place huh? My hotel offered x-rated shows of guys...just like the Thunder down under. hehe.

ps. I wish I had heard of that yogurt and pizza place while I was there! YUM! Although, maybe it is a good thing since I already gained 8 POUNDS on my trip. Glad you had fun!!!

How fun! Now I think it is time to have a weekend away with your Dixie friends! I will be the friend that lives in Arizona to plan the whole thing.

And I am so impressed that you continued your training while on vacation. I don't think I could do that.

It's okay Megan, I also did not feel guilty about leaving Nate and Lucas. It was such a fun trip! Let's not wait that long to do it again! I could totally go for some Yogurtland right about now.

I ate like I was on vacation and don't even have a 10 mile run to use as justification. These pics are so fun, I think I need a girls trip soon.

SO jealous! That sounds wonderful right now. But I think you totally should have stopped at Australia's Hottest Export! Yum :) haha. And I'm glad you blogged about the food. It wouldn't be a proper post without.

Wish someone could have heard me when I saw that first picture. "Are you serious?!" Don't worry, I was by myself, laughing out loud. That would have serious made this trip. :)

not surprisingly I am now hungry and want some food...gee thanks! Well, I DEFINATELY think you should plan one of these trips with Marcia and I...maybe we can go to Canada and see Reta...but that would be going to the cold and not leaving it....i may have to re-think this one.

That sounds like heaven...I was hoping to go on a girls only trip with my sisters and mom in October, but then my sister had to go and get pregnant (she's due in September). I'm jealous...did you come home a better mommy?

That looks like an absolute blast! Something I have never done but BADLY need to do. Oh yeah, no shame in going to the down under show... ;) just kidding but my favorite is alway the nudey magazines in news paper vendors on thestrip we saw a 7 year old boy point them out to his dad last time we went. Now that's awkward

So i totally have to agree on us never getting together being lame. Maybe once I get a grip on 3 kids we will have to go to thanksgiving point or something. And ihave ZERO self control at target. That's where I get Morgans diapers and I always end up wandering and buying toomuch

Derek and I are mad that you did not look us up while you were here! We live very close to YogurtLand! You better let us know next time you come! I love YogurtLand too! We have not tried Grimaldi's yet thought we will have too! Looks like you had a fun trip!

I love that I will always know what you ate, no matter where you go. Also funny story, Daniel talks non stop now and asked if Anna could come over and talk to him.
