I was a little hesitant to let her ride a pony because she was terrified of the carousel at the zoo when it started moving, but she loved riding the the horse - go figure.
Annabelle has hair...finally. Three cheers for hair! It actually is longer than it looks too because it is super curly in the back. The new hair growth is also a curse because headbands were so easy to use instead of actually doing her hair, which is why it is still my hair style of choice. Mostly because Anna pulls all pony tails or clips out within minutes. In the pic below, that is Ross's leg...just so no one thinks I go that long without shaving ;)

I remember when I was little and my mom would go out of town and my dad tried his hardest to do my hair. Granted, it was during the 80's so I had the bangs that curled under over your forehead and then back to your crown like some sort of wave - I am sure you had to take a class to get it just right, but I remember crying all the way to school because my hair was hideous. So when Ross thought Anna's hair could fit into a singular pony tail and he tried it himself I had to show him how to do it - he thought he did a good job, sorry Ross 'A' for effort.

Behold Anna's first pony tail! What a monumental moment. I can't believe her hair is finally long enough! It is still pretty thin though so the pony tail is pretty small and hard to achieve and maintain. I don't know how she has thin hair, both Ross and I have super thick hair...but then again we have a blonde - who knew?!

Oh yeah. I love the first pony tail. Gracie has been sporting that look this entire summer! That was funny about Ross' leg. You are a hoot. I think it is so funny that when ever we go to a fair, the kids act like they have never seen a horse & then want me to pay for it.
Go ANNA! hurray for kids who aren't afraid of horses. My nieces are afraid of many things so it's good that anna is brave. I love that hair! Don't worry. Julie's kids didn't have hair for a LONG time and now they have a whole bunch. Sometimes it just takes a while. I like that Ross is trying to do her hair it will be good for him.
I missed out on the whole 80's bang thing--I was a deprived child with bangless hair. I love that you expose Anna to the world of animals and she goes for the water every time--too funny.
You do the most fun things with Anna. I need you to plan some field trips for Beckett and I. I love that Ross tried to do Anna's hair. I also remember when my mom went out of town and dad was in charge. We usually called a neighbor. I am so proud of your running. I wish we could still train together.
way to go anna. i love that ross is learning to do hair. Ryan still doesn't. he does get the girls dressed though, and then sends them to me to do the hair. Cambree has been sporting the plain, left alone hair all summer.
ha, oh the days when dad would do our hair....I remember that....it was an intersting experience...but maybe that is why I think it's ok to put my hair in a wet ponytail now! I love these little pics of anna...she looks more like a little girl and not a baby when her hair is all done. I want to make a trip down there one day and go to thanksgiving point and see the animals and everything...I also want to spend a day at gardner village....hmmm...we'll plan it...and you don't know where the thin hair comes from? have you met the rest of our family?
Congrats on the ponytail!! She is so cute and I love those pics in the blue polka-dot dress!! Ah the 80's bangs - I'm pretty sure I was sportin them until '95 though. :) As always, you amaze me with your running talents; congrats on 2nd place - that is sweet.
Oh yeah, I am a little behind, but in answer to your question about Gage's card-making skills: In the picture on my blog, his card was the one with the clown on the front. I hate clowns, but I guess it's the thought that counts. :)
First of all I should be on all three of your lists USU friends, O town friends and Dixie friends. Oh well I get your point you actually met me at USU. Second of all those pictures of Anna are probably the cutest I've ever seen. I love them! She is so cute with her plaid shirt or dress can't really tell but I love how candid the photos are. She is so adorable.
Where's Clinton?
YEAH FOR HAIR! WE CAN ALWAYS CELEBRATE TOGETHER... SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET HOW EXCITING IT IS!
Gotta love the rainbow bangs! I often wonder how that was ever thought to be attractive. Weird! Anyway, Anna is so dang cute, and you always have the cutest outfits for her. I am super nervous for Maggie's hair to come in because I don't know a thing about doing hair!
Megan!!! I found you in the blog world of course! You're little girl is such a doll! I can't believe that much time has gone by. It is so fun to get to keep in touch with people through blogs....you'll have to visit mine and see my little one- she just turned 6 months old! You look happy and great as always!
Megan congrats on getting her hair in a ponytail. She is such a cute girl. I guarentee that our children will be bald until they are, well maybe they will be bald their whole lives because neither Nate or I have any hair. What our poor kids have to go through because of their parents. Oh well, they don't get a choice
We were at Farm Country last week too! Molly was super hesitant about the pony ride but I forced it on her. I'm still not sure how she liked it-she keeps saying "Mommy, ride horsey" or "No ride horsey!" Who knows with kids?
Megan,
This has nothing to do with your post, but I'm responding to your SYTYCD thoughts. I guess I could have just written you an email. Oh well.
I COMPLETELY agree with you. That makes no sense to have them dance for their lives if it isn't gonna mean anything. That was so lame and not fair to Comfort. I feel bad for Jessica because she's always kind of belittled because she's Will's partner. However, I don't love her. I thought Comfort added humor and something different like you said. I liked her a lot!
Yeah, Thayne did really good, but it was a no-brainer. There was no way they would get rid of Twitch or Will. Will's solo was absolutely incredible. He's SOOOO good, but it can get annoying hearing them constantly praise him, which I think is because Debi Allen mentored him and they like to give props to their choreographers.
Yeah right about the Snuggle Happy Dance. HAVE YOU SEEN ME DANCE? It's SOOOOOO bad. Maybe I'll have to video tape it and put it on my blog someday. Megan, I can't even touch my toes. That's how un-flexible I am. But, I would take you if I won. You're the only person who seems to be as obsessed about the show as I am! :)
Oh, and I totally don't mind these discussions. I have nobody to really discuss it with either. I've come to the conclusion that I pretty much write my SYTYCD blog posts for you since you're the only one who cares and will discuss with me. :)
The second picture of Anabelle looks like she is straight from a storybook, like "Fun with Dick and Jane". I love it! It's classic.
I have a picture almost identical to your horse one with Mckay and I at the fair...unlike Anna he was so scared.
YEAH for Annabelle having hair! That ponytail is so dang cute! Ross is so sweet to try and do her hair...I don't think craig would even ever try.
Yeah Anna! But I totally agree with having to do it now is a pain! To answer your question Claire loves her big girl bed and does great in it. It really hasn't affected her or screwed up her sleep which was pretty much the same with Dayton, although he was 27 months when I got brave enough to put him in one. But the lucky thing with the two of them is they were scared to get off without a stool, so I'd just move the stool at bed time and nap time and they wouldn't get down. You may have a couple of bad days, but things will go back to normal once it's not a novelty (like now Claire can reach the light switch, so sometimes I have to tape it to off) But I also have a play room upstairs so they don't really have a whole lot to play with in their room, which is nice for when they get brave enough to climb off by themselves! Good luck, raising kids is just trial and error. Eventually you'll find stuff that works, but the sad thing is it may not work for your next kid, so you're always having to change up your strategies!
B is getting hair now too, I don't have to do ponytails but I do try and make it look like he didn't just crawl out of a dumpster. No baby yet, I get induced Monday so for sure by then!!
I used to love to ride the ponies at fairs. So I just now read your Lagoon post. Both my dad and husband work for ATK. I had NO idea they had a Lagoon day. I missed out. Does Ross's dad work in Magna or Clearfield do you know?
